How to Prepare a Metal Fabrication Enquiry in Dubai
A useful fabrication enquiry describes the work well enough for two suppliers to price the same thing. A photograph and a rough length can start a conversation, but they rarely establish material, finish, installation conditions or responsibility for design. A clear brief reduces repeated questions and makes the resulting quotations easier to compare.
Describe the finished result
Begin with the purpose of the item, its location and the way it will be used. A decorative screen, a maintenance platform and a loading frame may all involve steel, but they have different requirements. Separate confirmed information from assumptions. If a consultant has issued a specification, include it rather than replacing it with an informal description that could change the scope.
Send usable information
Share the latest drawing revision, dimensions, quantities and photographs that explain the surroundings. Identify which measurements are verified and which require a site survey. Name each attachment clearly and avoid mixing old and current drawings in an unexplained folder. Where a drawing is incomplete, list the open decisions so the quotation can state its allowances rather than silently filling the gaps.
Compare the whole quotation
Check whether a price includes detailing, material supply, fabrication, finishing, delivery and installation. Access equipment, fixing design, unloading and making good should be addressed explicitly. Ask what is excluded, what information the price depends on and when the programme starts. A headline total becomes useful only when these commercial boundaries are clear enough to compare with another offer.
Questions to bring to your project discussion
- What is being made, and how many items are required?
- Which drawing revision should be priced?
- Which material and finish are specified?
- Who confirms measurements and design?
- What delivery and installation access is available?
Your next step
Before requesting a final price, collect the missing information into one short enquiry package. Afnan Group can discuss metalwork design and execution requirements; share your brief through the project enquiry form so the scope can be reviewed.
Prepare a project brief ↗These general project-planning guides are not a project-specific engineering specification. Design suitability, applicable requirements and approvals must be established by the responsible project professionals. Afnan’s interior, architectural and parametric services are design only; metal works can be scoped for design and execution.
